Mama’s Pralines – Our Story
As a little girl, I watched my mama stand over the stove, stirring her homemade pralines with love. The sweet smell would fill the house, and before long, everyone who tasted them couldn’t get enough. They weren’t just candy—they were comfort, tradition, and a piece of her heart.
As I grew older, I told her, “Mama, you should sell these.” She looked at me and said, “You think people will buy them?”
I didn’t hesitate: “Absolutely.”
At the time, I was living in Houston while my mama was in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She shipped me 25 packaged pralines, and with the kindness of a man named Mr. Sunny, I placed a small basket in his convenience store.
What started as 25 pralines a week quickly grew into 250. Before long, Mama’s Pralines were being sold in local restaurants and Market Basket stores. People fell in love with them—just like I always knew they would.
Then life shifted. My mama became ill, and everything paused so we could care for her—the woman who had poured so much love into everything she did.
Today, I am proud to relaunch Mama’s Pralines in her honor.
Every praline is made with the same love, the same recipe, and the same belief I had from the very beginning—that something made from the heart will always find its way to people who need it.
This isn’t just a business. It’s my mama’s legacy.
